Madison Area Technical College
Madison Area Technical College offers four programs leading to an Associate in Applied Arts degree. Interior Design is a two-year program that trains students for entry-level positions in residential design, design studios, commercial design, and retail sales. The curriculum focuses on teaching students to design residential and commercial spaces that pair function with aesthetics and meet client needs, code requirements, and industry standards. Students learn how to specify and estimate finishes, furnishings, and materials. They become adept at designing and doing construction drawing, both manually and with computer-aided design. An emphasis is placed on interpersonal skills and professional practices.
