Several talented interior designers and their designs were recognized by the Association or Registered Interior Designers on Thursday during the ARIDO Awards Program gala dinner and ceremony.
The awards recognize excellence in interior design among those working in the industry in Ontario, Canada, but a few outstanding designs from outside the province were also selected.
"We are very proud of the fact that a number of ARIDO members are creating award-winning designs for national and international clients," says ARIDO''s president, Deborah Rutherford. "Four of this year''s Award of
Excellence projects are outside of Canada."
Chosen from 10 different categories, the 32 award recipients included diverse kinds of facilities, including a dentist''s office, a museum, and private residences. The Project of the Year award was given to a building in St. Louis, Missouri, that historically served as a powerhouse but was converted into an office complex.
The awards highlight the idea that interior design can come in various forms and touches virtually every kind of room and structure a person can enter. Those eager to learn more about the domain of interior design - and perhaps take home an award of their own someday - may want to pursue a degree in that field.
