Students seeking a career in multimedia may find themselves with a new collegiate destination, as the Maine Media College announced that it will now offer an intensive one-year Multimedia program.

This new, certificate granting program hopes to teach students to combine classic storytelling approaches with the modern avenues afforded in the digital age.

The 30-week, 48-credit curriculum will include material from a variety of media disciplines such as still photography, video, media history, sound, editing and animation to name a few.

"The growing demand throughout our internet culture for content which is produced efficiently, often by an individual journalist, filmmaker or photographer, makes this training essential for artists entering the field today," claims MMC president Charles Altschul.

Established in 1996, MMC is closely partnered with the Maine Media workshops, a nearby non-profit multimedia education facility – that has attracted several travelling faculty members from fields like photography, film making and other media arts who have in-turn served as guest lecturers at MMC.
