To help connect web designers with prospective clients, web based application software design company 37signals, has launched Haystack.com - an online message board which allows web designers to gain exposure through consolidated listings.
The web service provides prospective clients an easy and effective way to sift through a sea of qualified applicants when searching for a web design firm or a freelancer who can best match their needs.
The site offers a variety of packages for designers wishing to showcase their work, from relatively simple free listings to $99 Pro listing which includes larger interactive display ads and superior page placement.
"We got our first Haystack referral the second day it was launched," claims Lee McAlilly of New York-based design firm, Electric Orange Creative. "And that was with the free account."
37designs reaches several thousand professionals across multiple industries through its blog, Signal Vs. Noise, which it uses to advertise its particular group of web applications including information gathering tool Backpack and chat application Campfire.
