A Penn State graphic design student has won a competition to design the school''s homecoming logo, marking the second design competition that the designer has won in the past year.
Earlier this year, Lindsay Stork won a t-shirt design competition for THON, the world''s largest student-run philanthropic event taking place later in the year, with her simple yet elegant design of a silhouetted boy making the symbol of cancer fund and event sponsor Four Diamonds.
Stork, who comes from nearby Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, believes that her wins could eventually help her land a job as a graphic designer.
"It''s really great for my portfolio, especially because I can put photographs of the logos all over, at both events," she tells school newspaper Penn State Live. "People will be able to see that my designs were out there. It''s a lot more gratifying than just creating a logo for my portfolio that not many people will see."
Stork said she has experience designing logos, having recently completed an internship with Plaid Creative, a branding company based in New York''s trendy SoHo neighborhood, where she assisted in the branding of an online company.
