Lionsgate Films and Crest Animation Studios have partnered to produce three new films, the first of which will be released in October, Reuters reports.

Alpha and Omega, which was written by Anthony Bell and Ben Gluck, follows the bonding experiences two young wolves face after they are captured by park rangers and taken far from their homes, according to the Internet Movie Database. Justin Long, Hayden Panetierre, Christina Ricci, Danny Glover, Dennis Hopper and Larry Miller all lent their voices to the film, which is in post-production.

The two companies are currently working on the second movie in the three-picture deal, the 3D animated film Norm of the North. The movie chronicles the adventures of a polar bear and three Arctic lemmings as they leave their melting home and begin new lives in New York City. After he takes a job as a corporate mascot, Norm discovers his employers were directly responsible for destroying his native land.

The family-friendly production, which was written by Steven and Daniel Altiere, is scheduled for an early 2012 release, Variety reports. Details concerning the third film in the deal have not yet been released.
