For the second consecutive year, retailers Sears and Kmart have announced that they will partner to host Design on a Dime - a fundraiser that showcases the creations of some of the world's most notable interior designers.
For the event, a total of 50 designers from across the globe will create room vignettes, which will be donated and sold for a fraction of the sticker price. These creations will include designs from artists such as Ty Pennington and Jaclyn Smith, as well as pieces featured in Country Living Magazine.
The proceeds of these sales will be Housing Works, a charity that provides living arrangements, medical care, food, job placement assistance, legal advice and disease prevention education to individuals who are living with HIV or AIDS.
Doug Wurl, vice president of Sears Holdings' Home Fashions department, said that "having a presence among such notable industry talent allows us an incredible opportunity to premiere our collections and showcase the abilities of our own designers - all while contributing to a very special cause."
Since its inception six years ago, the event has raised more than $2 million for the organization.
