When the iPad was released earlier in the year, it was a major event for the tech and portable electronics industries. Now, student designers have the chance to be a part of the iPad movement and maybe walk away with one of their own, as vinyl customization company Unique Skins has announced a new student design contest inviting entrants to create a new look for the portable tablet.

The "Best of the Best" contest is calling on graphic designers of all skill levels to show what they can do by designing the most unique look for the diminutive device. Unique Skins is allowing total creative freedom on the constructs, a factor which they hope will inspire contestants to go the extra mile when designing their entries.

"Unique Skins is about showcasing customers' unique style," Dominick Oliver, the company's founder, said in an official statement. "This contest has no creative limits, because we want to see the best that our customers have to offer."

The competition runs through June 17, and there is no limit how many entries one person can make. The grand prize winner will be named following an online vote on July 6.
