Slipcover designer partners with textile company to launch new collection
IKEA shoppers now have more options to personalize their furniture, as slipcover designer Bemz recently partnered with textile manufacturer Designers Guild to create a new collection.

The Swedish designer, which creates custom furniture covers for IKEA products, worked with Designers Guild to create its Barcelona Collection, which became available on the Bemz website today.

The line of 100 percent cotton slipcovers, which are machine-washable, feature painterly and eclectic prints that are inspired by Spanish culture. All of the company’s products are designed to be durable and easily cleaned, according to company officials.

Lesley Pennington, founder and CEO of Bemz, said that Designers Guild was a “perfect fit for our growing customer base, who look for sophistication in design” because they have “mastered the ‘mix’ with new ways to use color, patterns and textures in a free, artistic way.”

The Barcelona Collection is the newest addition to the Bemz Designer Series, which featuers creations from highly respected designers. Individuals who have lent their talents to this line include Marimekko, Stig Lindberg, Viola Grasten, Gota Tragardh and Katarina Wiklund.
