Fashion, film and literature often collide in creative and artistic ways. For example, designer Sue Wong recently announced the launch of her new collection Eat Pray Love by Sue Wong, which is inspired by the book by Elizabeth Gilbert and the highly anticipated film Eat Pray Love.
This will be Sue Wong's first-ever separates collection, as she is typically known for creating elegant gowns.
"Because of the immediate connection I felt to the story, as well as its emphasis on the culture, philosophy, and in particular, alluring mystique of the East, I was able to create a collection that was striking, exotic and timeless, and organic to the journey in the book and forthcoming film," said Sue Wong.
Eat Pray Love is based on the true story of a woman who travels the world discovering the pleasures of food in Italy, the healing power of prayer in India and inner love in Bali. The collection features pieces influenced by the rich colors and textures of India and Indonesia, which can be seen in each intricately embellished item.
The luxurious and limited edition ready-to-wear collection will be available this fall at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor and Dillard's.
