When Josh Dodd and Megan Bullock graduated college with design degrees, they didn't have much know-how when it came to starting a business.
"We started with nothing. Had our computers from college and decided to go ahead and give it a shot," Dodd told The State Journal.
However, two years later, the two partners boast a client list that ranges from coast to coast. With Dodd's computer science degree and Bullock's design degree, they were able to form their company, MESH. Bullock explained to the news source that they collaborate with other artists, many of which come from Texas, DC and New York. Facebook gave them a much-needed publicity boost.
Even their office of operations has transformed significantly over the course of their brief careers. What was first an old warehouse has become both their studio and living space. And they did all of the renovations themselves.
"The renovation part was the harder part, because we didn't know how to do electrical," Bullock said. "Hanging drywall is one of the hardest things I've ever done."
Computer applications software engineers are generally in high demand. In 2008, there were about 514,000 positions in this field and another 394,800 for compuster systems software engineers.
