Prospective architects may be curious about new Nashville hotel

Architecture design students may be interested to find out about a new addition to downtown Nashville. Plans for the Omni Nashville Hotel, a 21-story hotel that will be attached to the Country Music hall of Fame and Museum, will include maintaining the musical theme of the city, according to The Tennessean .

The design includes the expansion of the museum along with restaurants and a venue for live music. Brasfield and Gorrie of Birmingham, Alabama and HKS Hill Glazier Studio of Dallas will be construction the Hall of Fame and the hotel consecutively. The new compilation of buildings will be named the Music City Convention District and is expected to open January 2013.

"This project, combined with the design of the Music City Center, will energize Fifth Avenue South, and turn it into an extension of our world-renowned entertainment district on Lower Broadway," Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said to the Tennessean.

Individuals who are pursuing degrees in architectural design may want to know how much they will eventually earn in this field. Even though it fluctuates between specific jobs, the average annual salary for an architect is nearly $74,000, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
