Architectural design students may be interested in the new layout of a college football stadium in Texas. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) is designing a new stadium and a student union building, which is called the Mayborn Center, according to the worlddesignnetwork.com.
The new stadium will contain new locker rooms, concession stands and a press box. In addition, the 10,000-seat stadium will include banquet rooms, suites and new student dining rooms. Behind the visitor stands will be the Mayborn Center, which will have views into the stadium. According to the website, the facility will create heavy student traffic, which will become the focal point of the campus. The $20 million-plus project is expected to be completed by early 2013.
Individuals who are interested in earning a degree in this field may want to look into the personality traits some architects possess. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, some important qualities include maintaining strong communication skills, understanding spatial relationships and the ability to translate one's vision onto paper or diagram.
