An online wall art distributor called Art.com, Inc. has released this year's list of designs that are expected to be popular. The list is determined by the results of several surveys on the company's website. One of these questionnaires concluded that 80 percent of respondents would like to redecorate this spring.

The highlighted trends involve using botanical prints, whimsical-themed decor and plum, red, white and black. Interior design expert Susanna Salk explained how to use each element. For example, Salk said plum can illustrate both elegance and softness, and it may also be used to stand out in a neutral-colored space.

Individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in interior design may want to incorporate the current trends into their style, which could help improve their occupation prospects. Between the years 2008 and 2018, there are expected to be nearly 14,000 more jobs in this field, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
