The Australian Interior Design Awards issued the recipients of these honors on April 15 in Melbourne's Docklands, according to Architecture and Design.
The winners of these awards came from companies ranging in size and value. The Premier Award for Interior Design Excellence and Innovations was given to the Wolveridge Architects due to a fresh spin in the design by incorporating the lighting and furniture with the room's geographic location, according to the media outlet.
In addition, for the first year the Australian Design show highlighted a winner for an environmental sustainable design. This first recipient was the BVN Architecture for Puckapunyal Military Area Memorial Chapel in Victoria.
The judges of the award show said to the news source, "the project highlights how sustainability can be expressed without an explicit 'eco' aesthetic."
Prospective interior designers may have the opportunity to showcase their designs around the world. The employment rate for individuals in this field is expected to increase by 19 percent between 2008 and 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
