Sometimes a neutral colored couch can be exactly what a space needs. As seasons come and go, subtle changes, such as different colored pillows, can completely change the feel of a home.

Interior designers from Kansas City recently took shots at changing the atmosphere of a room by adding different pillows. One professional thought that by adding a charcoal pillow with silver-accented threading and black stripes, there could even be an artistic feel - without the expensive paintings and photographs, the Kansas City Star reports.

In addition, a country club interior designer explains that changing pillows can not only finish the look of the room but also give it the vibrant pop of color. Another professional believes that sticking with tans and beiges are the perfect accents for the warm and mellow days of summer, according to the news source.

Prospective interior designers may be able to obtain a job when they graduate from their programs, and be able to advise clients like these designers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for professionals in this field is expected to increase by 19 percent between 2008 and 2018.
