Individuals who travel across the country can not help but notice the distinct difference in license plate designs. Massachusetts has red writing and a white background, whereas, New Jersey has black writing and yellow background. Each state has a different design and appeal, and now residents of Georgia have the opportunity to design their own state's plate, according to the Associated Press.
The contest, which is hosted by the Department of Revenue, is available to all citizens and companies in the state. Submissions will be accepted until June 17 and then it is up to online voters to pick the top three. Viewers can vote between June 24 and July 8, according to the news source.
"We want to embrace the artistic and creative talents of Georgia’s residents by asking for submissions that will provide an exciting new design to appear on millions of new general issue license plates," Revenue Commissioner Douglas MacGinnitie told the Rome News Tribune.
The winner will be announced on July 15, according to the Tribune.
Individuals who are currently in graphic design programs may want to look into this contest or any other ones similar.
