College students have been given the chance to design a new Ferrari hypercar of the future for the Ferrari's World Design Contest, using Autodesk software, which is a company that has 3D design, engineering and entertainment software.
"Autodesk is proud to partner with Ferrari to bring this competition to students around the world and demonstrate just how much students are capable of with the right inspiration, imagination and tools," said Joe Astroth, the chief education officer at Autodesk. "The competition offers students the real-world design experiences of collaborating with a team, adhering to deadlines and, of course, presenting their ideas to Ferrari."
The competition has moved onto its next stage in which the finalists schools were selected, and there are now seven schools remaining. The winners will be announced on July 19.
Design students who are interested in obtaining a job when they enter the field may be able to. Employment in the computer software field is expected to increase by 21 percent between 2008 and 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
