Project Runway releases this seasons contestants

The popular Lifetime show "Project Runway," which is hosted my Heidi Klum, is coming back for another season and the contestants were recently announced, according to US Weekly.

There were 20 fashion designers that were announced, however only 16 of them making it on to the show. These professionals come from all over the country, are a range of different ages and are at different points in their careers.

According to the Post-Dispatch, Laura Kathleen Planck of St. Louis will be one of the competitors for this season. The 26-year-old started her own company when she was 23, and uses only her first two names on the show. She will be one of the 20 who will be fighting for the grand prize of $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris toward fashion collection and a spread in Marie Claire magazine. In addition, they will receive a $50,000 technology suite from HP and Intel to run their business and be able to sell their line on Piperlime.com.

The ninth season of the show will premiere on July 28.
