It is coming close to the 10-year anniversary of the September 11 attacks, and the memorial will be ready just in time, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The design process has been far form smooth as the original architect's vision has been swayed by family members of those who perished and political officials. However, it has finally come to a conclusion as it will cover 7.5 acres with large void spaces where the towers once stood with the names of those who died that day. The entire lot fills nearly 16 acres, and in the coming years museums and other facilities will be built to complete the entire space, according to the news source.
It will be ready for the memorial ceremony on the 11th, and then available to the public starting on the 12th, the media outlet reports.
Individuals who are interested in becoming architecture designs may have the chance to land a job once they graduate from their design programs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in this field is expected to increase by 16 percent between 2008 and 2018.
