Two interior designers, Peter Baty and Johnny Moallempour, of San Francisco recently shared some of their tips for both fellow designers and their clients, according to The Bay Area Reporter.
When starting out on a project, they say that it is important to remember that just changing the color scheme can go a long way, and make sure that a person paints a large section on the desired wall, chips are not effective, according to the media outlet.
Also, the relationship between the designer and their client has to be a good one, for which they understand each other and are able to communicate.
"Interior design is a personal relationship, unlike going to the dentist once a year. It must be clear that the client and designer enjoy spending time together and that the designer is able to interpret what they are trying to say when describing their needs," Baty told the news source.
Individuals who are interested in interior design may be able to land a job after they graduate from their design programs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for professionals in this field is expected to increase by 19 percent between 2008 and 2018.
