Fashion designer Janie Bryant has built quite the resume over the past couple years. She won an Emmy for costume design on "Deadwood," and was nominated for another for designing "Mad Men." Now, she will be incorporating both her "Mad Men" inspired designs and molding them into a new design for the retail store Banana Republic, which is due out this fall, according to The News Journal.
"It's really come full circle," Bryant told the news source. "For my whole career, I used my design capability and talents, but in the film business, it's different. It's not designing collection. It's creating character through costume design. Now I just really got to the place in costume design where I felt like it was time for me to branch out and diversify."
Bryant added that she hopes to one day showcase an entire collection during Fashion Week, the media outlet reports.
Individuals who are interested in fashion design should start by working in mass-producing design companies because there is a good chance they can get a job there after they graduate from their design programs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
