Interior design and architecture students from the University of Texas recently celebrated the completion of the house they created and designed called the "New Norris Home," according to the news channel WBIR-TV.
This past Thursday, the students gathered around the new home, which has been under development for a year. The young architects recently conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony, according to the news source.
In addition, the house that they designed was made of completely sustainable products and earned a LEED certification upon completion. Two students will now be able to live in the new space.
The house was a replica of one of the original Norris homes created 75 years ago, but now it has an eco-friendly twist, the media outlet reports.
Individuals who are interested in interior design as a career, may want to know what the job market will look like after they graduate from their design programs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in this field is expected to increase by 19 percent between 2008 and 2018.
