Amazon.com, the online retail supergiant, has recently started to test out a new design for its website, which has been completely revamped, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The main reason for the redesign is to make it easier for tablet users, which can create an easier shopping experience for tablet users, the source reports. In addition, the new site is featuring more of its digital items rather than the physical ones, according to the news provider.
"As shoppers migrate to smaller, more interactive screens such as tablets, making the content dynamic and personalized to each individual consumer becomes overwhelmingly important," David Selinger, former Amazon manager, told the new source. "That's just what this redesign does - it puts those features front and center."
Sally Fouts, the Amazon spokeswoman, announced that the company is unsure when the new web design layout will hit everyone's computer or even if it will stay put as the new website, the media outlet reports.
According to The Los Angeles Times, Amazon is also expected to release their own tablet, which is meant to serve the same function as an iPad, it is supposed to be hitting shelves in a few weeks.
