Black Spectacles, an online publication about architecture and design technology, has recently announced that they will be holding the Un-Competition Project. They have teamed up with the Chicago Architecture Club, and are asking local designers to come up with new plans to help their respective communities.
"The Un-Competition Project is a different way of thinking about architecture," said Alan Barker, a board member of the club. "It's an intriguing and promising way to think about design entrepreneurship, of promoting the profession and helping to move young architects forward. The Un-Competition Project is an opportunity for young practitioners to hone their skills, to contribute something to their local community and to establish a foothold for themselves."
The winner will be announced during the company's event on November 7.
Prospective architectural designers may have the opportunity of obtaining a job once they graduate from their design programs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for professionals in this field is expected to increase 16 percent between 2008 and 2018.
