California Institute of the Arts
The School of Art BFA photography program promotes artistic expression and experimentation, enabling students to become innovators who question the status quo to shape their field.
The classes for this major consist of first a year of intensive basics, then history, technical training, theory, and independent study. Requirements for the MFA include critiques, seminars, and independent study as students build their unique portfolios. In the second year of residency, students prepare final projects that are given to faculty to judge. Only upon successful completion of this project, may students graduate.
