Associate of Science degree in Digital Photography - Tampa campus

The Professional Photography program includes history, theory, practical artistic and professional guidance, and photographic technique. The program helps students to prepare for entrance in professional photography related job fields.

Students receive a wide range of information regarding photographic history, principles, processes and methods. To create, enhance, and modify digital images, computer software, printing technology and photographic equipment are utilized. Students have the opportunity to develop artistic style and techniques when they are allowed to participate in photographic projects. It takes only six terms for the full-time students to finish the program. In the program, such subjects at theory and history of photography, lighting, project management, and specific areas (including commercial photography, advertising, event photography, and fashion photography) are covered.

The final term is spent focused on the student's Capstone project, and is regularly peppered with guidance in career management. When students enroll in the Associate of Science degree program in Digital Photography, they acquire traditional and emerging skills that prepare them for work in the constantly changing world of professional photography.

Those students, who enroll for the degree on Digital Photography will study the course content covering skills training that are relevant to the career in commercial, advertising, portrait photography, photojournalism, and wedding photography. Hands-on projects using industry-standard cameras, lighting, grip, software, and techniques are also completed by them. The program places an emphasis on resume and portfolio building opportunities. Opportunities are provided by the design of this comprehensive course of study for the following:

  • Create fashion, lifestyle and advertising images.
