Ohio Institute of Photography offers certificate and degree programs that prepare students for employment in fields including fashion, design and graphic arts, that may be taken on campus and/or online. Commercial Photography

By selecting this major, you will become proficient in the camera and lighting techniques that can be employed both in the studio and on location. The job of a commercial photographer typically entails photographing products, facilities, people, or other subjects for editorial, advertising, or promotional purposes.

Program Objective

The objective of this programmed is to offer specialized training in the use of small, medium, and large format cameras using digital and film as required. There are courses in basic computer skills, Adobe® Photoshop®, advanced camera procedures, and business skills. Portfolio development is an instrumental part of your success as a commercial photographer, and this course will equip you with the techniques needed to refine your portfolio and make it work for you.

Career Opportunities

After successfully completing coursework in this specialty, you will earn an Associate of Applied Science in Photographic Technology from OIP&T, which will aid in your search for entry-level work in commercial photography. General Applied Photography

As you undertake the associate in photographic technology degree, you will start by selecting a specialization. Portrait Photography
