Oklahoma School Of Photography
As clearly stated within the title, the Oklahoma School of Photography is intended for a complete focus on the medium of photography. To mold professional photographers, the program allows students to gain a solid grounding in both theory and practical techniques.
Students in the photography program are prepared for professional positions as photographers and lab technicians. There are many careers that fit into the category of photography. A professional photographer can work in portraiture, weddings, fine art, photojournalism, public relations, fashion, advertising, and many more. Black & White and Color processing, printing, quality control, and print finishing are all duties of a Lab Technician.
Students receive hands-on training so that they will have the abilities necessary to succeed upon entry into the real world of professional photography. Our students work on diverse assignments from artistic photo essays to magazine cover, from staged product shots to commercial portraiture. Students work in color and black & white, all while doing film processing and printing on their own. Their curriculum will involve shooting with 35 mm SLR cameras, medium format cameras, view cameras, and modern digital cameras.
Our facilities provide students with a wide range of learning opportunities including, among others, color and black & white darkrooms, well-equipped portrait studios, a product/still life room, copy stand, macro stand, hand coloring and toning.
