Photography, B.F.A.:
The B.F.A. program consists of freshmen and transfer students through acceptance of the mandatory portfolio. Any persons having less than four semesters of previous education are obligatory for examination for the major. At the end of the first semester those students admitted as upper-division transfers will be reviewed.
Students should realize the importance of their application for their major since it is the utmost critical evaluation phase of the program. A two-person faculty committee will conduct an interview with the student and go over his or her portfolio. Thus interview will ultimately lead to determination of eligibility. All students in the strong>Bachelor of Fine Arts program must display an art piece into an exhibition. An advisor will assist the student in the planning and installation of the chosen piece. No grade will be issued.
Note: The Fine Arts Dept. holds the right to preserve any artwork from students for intents such as exhibits, catalogs, or teaching aids.
Photography minors will be taught traditional and modern digital technology. Students will learn the use in artistic photography, and work on harnessing technology for utilizing a variety of application settings including personal, commercial, scientific, and educational.
