Recording Arts Canada
Recording Arts Canada is a digital arts college with campuses in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario. Recording Arts Canada students learn to create sound designs for film, TV, and electronic games; cut audio and music tracks for a broad range of applications; create sounds in various styles of music; and operate industry standard studio software and hardware.
.
Recording Arts Canada students use the latest 3D, production, editing, authoring, interactivity, and simulation tools in order to prepare for a career in the digital arts. RAC also has a program for game design students, which teaches students about 2D animation, 3D animation, audio for games, project management, graphic design, level design, and other important game creation skills.
Recording Arts Canada programs vary by campus. Sound and Music Recording is available at both the Montreal and Toronto campuses, but the Digital Media program and the Game Design program are only available at the Toronto campus.
Students at RAC are able to work part-time jobs around the Recording Arts Canada schedule, which students receive in advance of each session. International students who want to work part-time while attending RAC must obtain a work visa in addition to a study visa, or they will not be eligible to work in Canada. RAC does not provide student housing, but does provide resources for students to source their own housing in Toronto or Montreal.
The facilities at each RAC campus vary, but include studio labs that feature industry standard equipment to provide students with hands-on access and practice. The Montreal campus includes a computer lab studio, recording and mixing studios and theaters, and four distinct studios with different equipment for a range of projects. The Toronto campus includes five recording and mix studios for sound mixing, sound-effects tools, live recording, and studios containing various equipment and playback tools.
