Intermediate Web Site Designer: Program Description This technical certificate was designed to meet the request from local high schools to have a certificate that would allow their students to complete courses related to the Internet and Web Site Design. Students will receive high school credit as well as technical college credit. This certificate will not be limited to high school students. Anyone interested in this certificate in Web Site Design will be eligible to apply for this program after completion of the Introduction to Web Site Design technical certificate. Credits required for graduation: 21 Web Site Design Associate Program Description This technical certificate was designed at the request of local high schools. The certificate will allow students to complete courses related to the Internet and Web Site Design. Students will receive high school credit as well as technical college credit. Currently, courses are being taught at two high-schools in our service area with much success. The certificate is not be limited to high school students. Students will also be prepared for and encouraged to take the CIW Internet Foundations exam. Credits required for graduation: 20 Web Site Design Specialist Program Description The purpose of this certificate is to provide training opportunities for persons to gain entry-level employment in the field of web site design. The certificate will prepare students to receive CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) certifications. Credits required for graduation: 47 The Associate of Applied Science Degree is awarded to graduates in the following degree programs at Valdosta Tech: CIS - Internet Specialist - Web Site Design - CIW3 Program Description The Computer Information Systems - Internet Specialist - Web Site Design program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required in computer information processing. Program graduates receive a Computer Information Systems - Internet Specialist - Web Site Design degree and are qualified for employment as Internet Specialists - Web Site Designers. These programs are two years in length. Generally, the difference between diploma and degree programs is in the academic core curriculum. Home : Academic Programs : Diploma Programs : CIS - Internet Specialist - Web Design CIS - Internet Specialist Web Site Design Program Description The CIS - Web Site Design diploma program, approximately five quarters in length for the full-time student, trains the student to enter the continuously expanding field of web site design. Students learn to design, build, and maintain web sites for individuals and industry. Students receive classroom instruction and hands-on experience on the latest in technology and software. Students also gain valuable knowledge and experience in scripting languages, web site design tools, and multimedia applications and graphics. Specific software such as Flash, Cold Fusion, DreamWeaver, NetObjects Fusion, and Adobe Photoshop are a few of the software packages made available to students in the program. Preparation for CIW certification exams is an integral part of the program. Program graduates receive a diploma.
