The Graphic Arts & Web Design program prepares students for an entry-level position in Web page graphic design. Upon completing the courses, students should be able to: demonstrate a knowledge of software programs and Web-authoring software utilized in Web page design; demonstrate good communications and problem-solving skills through page layout design; demonstrate the ability to plan, design and prepare page layouts for the World Wide Web on both technical and aesthetic levels; and prepare a portfolio demonstrating an ability to work in an entry-level position in Web page design. Although this program is designed for immediate career preparation, students may continue their college education in SCC's certificate program in Web page design or degree program in computer graphic art.
