The Information Technology degree program is a unique program of study that interfaces the major areas of Applications, Business, Engineering, and Information Services into a degree for total flexibility in the rapidly changing information technology environment. Students may select from the four majors listed below, and may custom design their degree with selected Specialty Options. By working closely with an Advisor, students are able to sequence the courses required for their selected degree. Web Design Specialty The rapid development and expansion of the Internet has created an information explosion as the most widely used network in the world, serving an estimated 200 million people in over 200 countries. Information on the Web is estimated to be doubling every four months. Adding to the rapid growth is e-commerce, which has become the newest market for business. The design and development of materials suitable for the Web has become one of the newest information technology professions. From design through HTML coding and Java programming, this program emphasizes good design and proper techniques in creating effective Web pages. The objective of the Web Design Specialty is to prepare the student to design and develop professional looking materials for placement on the Web. The program is offered in a day sequence, which can be completed in as little as 18 months.
