Established in 1931, Berkeley College is a coeducational college with a concentration in business. Berkeley is widely recognized for its academic excellence and currently offers seven locations in New York and New Jersey, USA, along with an online "campus" to accommodate its students who hail from 29 states and 112 foreign countries.
The Berkeley Way Professional training, balancing academic preparation, and hands-on experience is from where Berkeley draws strength. The college has been doing a great job in educating and preparing men and women for careers in business. Since it was started it has evolved and developed into a premier institution.
The primary objective of the College is reflected in Berkeley's commitment to excellence. This commitment is supported through the provisions of small classes, individualized counseling and advisement, and the development of each student's creative and analytical skills. Believing that teaching should combine both a conceptual and practical outlook, the faculty at Berkeley is chosen for both their academic credentials and professional experience. The experience in business brings an added intellectual reality to the classroom, resulting in a challenging and stimulating learning environment.
Berkeley is proud of its strong connection to the business community, a relationship that has been building for 75-plus years.
A wide variety of employers are attracted both by this relationship and by Berkeley's outstanding reputation. Business experts will help design our college programs to ensure that professional skills are made available for all students which will enrich their opportunities to attract a variety of employers. Students are not only provided with the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience in their career field, but also develop a network of business connections for the future as well as being assisted in defraying the costs of college through the formal internships included in the degree programs.
Berkeley is especially concerned to make sure all eligible students receive enough financial aid to be able to attend. Financial aid advisors and students cooperate to produce a personal plan that is in-line with their particular needs. A selection of financial aid resources are available to students, and these include loans, grants, scholarships, and other forms of aid that can help defray educational costs. Payment is not needed for the students in Berkeley who avail of the state and federal grants that includes Federal Supplemental Grants, Federal Pell Grants, New York TAP or New Jersey TAG.
The Federal Family Educational Loan Program also offers several low-interest loan options to students and their parents. Each year, approximately seventeen million dollars is set aside for student aid, dependent on need and/or merit at Berkeley. A variety of institutional grants, scholarship, and loans are available, also, recipients of private scholarships can receive matching grants from Berkeley.
A Tradition of Excellence: While looking ahead and staying abreast of developments in professional careers, Berkeley College keeps on getting better and better. As Berkeley College plans for the future and responds to the ever-changing job market, it continues to build on its tradition of excellence. Berkeley's year-round quarter system provides students with the option of earning their Bachelor's degree in as little as three years - or the traditional four years. You can receive an Associate's Degree in 18 months. For students electing to take weekend/evening classes, the Associate's degree can be completed in only two years while the Bachelor's degree can be completed in less than four.
