Do you want to use a variety of software and programming tools to create websites? The Web Designer program is intended to provide you with a comprehensive foundation of the essential concepts and techniques of web-based computer applications. You will be able to acquire the skills to research, design, develop, produce and maintain Internet and Intranet sites in an efficient manner.
This program will focus on developing the website with the center of attention being around selecting and organizing the applicable data and laying out the information in a usable and pleasing design.
You will learn to create and optimize text and illustrations within a site by using a variety of graphic, database, and animation tools.
From conception of an idea to completion of the finished product, this program will enable you to build an effective website. The ability to create and effectively use mock-ups and storyboards to present web related ideas is one of the skills you will be taught.
To properly prepare students for the before-mentioned tasks, there will be specific emphasis placed on programs such as MS Office 2000, MS Windows 98, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Photoshop and Dreamweaver, along with many others.
Also, by taking part in the Learning System, you will be able to develop educational and hands-on experience that will lead to a successful career in information technology.
You will acquire relevant skills for public and private sector jobs in computer development firms, information technology consulting firms, and information technology units. Another option in this always evolving field is to be your own boss!
